About the Coalition

OUR HISTORY
Rachel Coalition, a division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, began in 1997 as a grassroots organization of Jewish Family Service, United Jewish Communities of MetroWest and the National Council of Jewish Women, Essex County Section.  Today, Rachel Coalition uniquely combines the resources and commitment of affiliated groups, social services and its nine partners of northern New Jersey organizations to assist domestic violence victims and their families with a wide array of services.  Since its inception, the Coalition has served more than 560 men, women and children across the area.  On average, 40 calls are received monthly via the Coalition's crisis response line.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the Coalition is to improve the lives of those affected by domestic violence by providing a comprehensive and coordinated response in the MetroWest Jewish community and in the community at large.
