RACHEL COALITION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Rachel Coalition depends on volunteers to keep many of its services and programs running smoothly and consistently. Our volunteer opportunites vary and range from working with directly with clients to working "behind the scenes." Listed below are some specific volunteer opportunities where you can make a difference in a families life. Thank you for wanting to be part of our community and help to end domestic violence!
Court Advocate Training Program
A unique opportunity for individuals who will be trained to assist domestic violence victims as they await their restraining order hearings in Essex County Family Court. All volunteers must complete a 40 hour training course (no prior experience necessary). Click here for more information. Next training begins on Tuesday, April 27 and classes will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 9:30 to 12:30 in Newark through June 9 (no class on May 19).
Cut It Out
Individuals will be trained to educate local salon professionals to recognize the dynamics and warning signs of domestic violence. All volunteers must complete a 2 hour training session (no prior experience necessary). Click here for more information.
Run for Rachel
Individuals are needed to assist with soliciting sponsors for fundraising, volunteer on the Race Day (registration, food or race day activities). All volunteers receive a FREE volunteer shirt!
Rachel Committees
Individuals are always needed to volunteer on various program and fundraising committees. Be part of a committee (Education, Outreach, Marketing, Fundraising and more) and share your ideas, expertise and enthusiasm!!
